Circulation Privileges

To apply for a card

• To apply for borrowing privileges, please complete the form available at the circulation desk.
• If you are under 18, we also require your parent or guardian to complete and co-sign your application.
• There is no charge for patron borrowing privileges, regardless of your place of permanent residence.

Loan Periods, Limits, Renewals

• Medina Community Library cardholders in good standing may borrow and keep on loan up to four items for two weeks.
• Circulating period for all materials borrowed through interlibrary loan is two weeks; renewals are not permitted.
• Reference and genealogy materials and current periodicals must be used in the Library.
• Renewal extensions are permitted unless that item has been requested by another patron. Renewals may be made by phone as long as you have no overdue items outstanding.
• No renewals are allowed on Interlibrary Loan materials.

Borrowers’ Responsibilities; Overdue Procedures

• Materials may be returned during library hours, or through the book drop at any time.
• Please treat library materials with care. You are responsible for returning them on or before the due date. and for the replacement cost of any item that is damaged or lost while in your care.
• There is no daily fine for overdue materials, but please contact the library if circumstances prevent your returning them promptly.
• An item will be considered lost when it is past due for four weeks, after which a final notice and invoice will be sent.
• Any overdue items must be returned and all charges for lost or damaged materials paid before you may check out other materials.
